Holistic Treatments

Cupping and Gua sha

Ancient oriental medicine techniques that increase circulation and reduce fascial adhesions or scar tissue. Thus they are effective treatments for muscle spasms, tendon sprains and restricted mobility.

Cupping; uses a glass jar and flame “fire cupping” to create suction that pulls the muscle tissue into the cup without burning. This increases blood flow to the spasmed muscles and reduces fascial adhesions. During this process, blood is drawn into the cup by vacuum, which can create a bruise that dissipates in a few days. It is vary effective to release muscle tension, stiffness and congestion.

Gua Sha: is a technique in which gentle scraping is done with a special tool to release muscle tension, stiffness and congestion.  lotion is applied to the skin and then a smooth edged implement is used to lightly scrape the tissue with repeated strokes. This brings blood to the surface and the tissue often becomes red and take a few days for them resolve.

Custom Orthotics
A custom orthotic is a shoe insert designed re-align abnormal foot position and motion, to restore your natural foot function. Many foot walking complaints such as heel pain, arch pain, shin pain, achilles pain, flat feet, neuromas, bunions, hammer toes are caused by poor foot function. By correcting foot biomechanics we can improve alignment of the rest of the body, knees, hips and back and thus reduce pain and improve function.
